2025 Light Up The Town Registration is LIVE
The Children’s Discovery Museum with support from CTB Electronics is hosting a city-wide light celebration! This is the great tradition’s 5th year. Happy 5 years to everyone.

The Light up the town competition is open to residents and businesses of Waterville and its neighboring communities. Waterville, Winslow, Benton, Fairfield, Oakland, Sidney and Vassalboro.
COMPETITION RULES:
Businesses and individuals decorate their properties with as many lights as possible. The registered parties will be part of a city-wide map for members of the community to drive or walk by each location to admire the decorations.Once you register, you are responsible for decorating your property with as many lights and decorations as possible. The more lights the better! Once we have gathered all entries, we will compile a Light Up The Town map to distribute to the community. Please have your light display ready for November 28th, 2025(aka Black Friday), and keep your lights up all season long!
Categories.
We will be judging the event in three categories this year. Business, Residential and Syncronized Residential. 1st 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be handed out for all 3 categories and announced in December.

Businesses.
Businesses, are you interested in helping to support the Light up the Town competition with a prize donation? Please add that in your answers. This year to help support our businesses we are allowing businesses to donate to the prize pool for the Residential and Synchronized categories.
Residents.
Synchronized Residents. (New category this year).
Synchronized Display with low wattage, short distance Radio transmitters will need to have it’s radio frequency registered with us this year. We would like to know if you are going to use them in your display for the two reasons. The first is we would like to make sure that you are not transmitting on other radio stations in the competition or other radio stations in general. Chris can help you with this if you run into problems. The second reason is we will put your radio station frequency on the map so people going through these neighborhoods can tune into your broadcast. Prizes will also be given out for 1st place through 3rd place. Last year, Chris hand built/soldered battery operated flashing LED Christmas tree’s as trophies for 1st through 3rd place. This years prizes will be a surprise.
We encourage everyone with holiday spirit to participate!Thank you for participating and we hope that you have fun!
